HIŠA! is an association within which we, cultural creators, have formalized our activities since 2010 and have been developing and implementing the program Živa dvorišča Maribora (Living Courtyards of Maribor). This is a team that, through its broad field of activity and high level of expertise, has established a new modus operandi in Maribor's youth and cultural sectors. It focuses on connecting and encouraging collaboration between stakeholders from all areas of youth and cultural activities with the residents of the city center, with the goal of creating a program that culturally and socially revitalizes both the city's offerings, individuals, and the city as a whole. The Hiša! association is the main organizer of the following sub-programs:

 

• Living Courtyards
• Rajzefiber Biro
• Center for Graphic Arts

 

With the help of various tools (art, social activities, workshops, meetings), Hiša! connects and encourages the participation of various stakeholders (residents, students, mentors, artists, craftsmen, shops, municipalities, educational and cultural institutions), and enables the creation of high-quality results that exceed individual outcomes of the participants. The goal of the association’s work is to connect creators, organizations, and the local community, promote creativity, and encourage cultural engagement among all segments of the local public through a broad spectrum of arts. We are mediators, promoting communication and the realization of quality and culturally significant social events. In doing so, we "set up a ladder to look over the fences of our little gardens."
